REITs in the Community: LaHood Visits Simon Property Group

September 1, 2017 - Rep. Darin LaHood (R-IL), left, visited Simon Property Group's (NYSE: SPG) White Oaks Mall in Springfield, IL, and was hosted by J. Clay Emerich, mall manager. During the visit, Rep. LaHood, a member of the Congressional Joint Economic Committee, the House Science, Space & Technology committee, and the House Natural Resources committee, was briefed on SPG's recent activities at the mall and throughout Illinois, as well as several key legislative issues for REITs and the publicly traded real estate industry now pending before Congress, including the Marketplace Fairness Act.
