Background of the Dividends Through Diversity Giving Campaign

Launched in 2022 under the leadership of Nareit’s Dividends Through Diversity (DTD) CEO Council Philanthropy Committee, the Nareit Foundation’s DTD Giving Campaign was designed to demonstrate the collective commitment of the REIT and publicly traded real estate industry to advancing diversity, while complementing and compounding the impact of individual companies’ efforts in similar areas.

Nareit and more than 40 Nareit member REITs, or their philanthropic organizations, made donations to the campaign, committing to help pave the way to embrace the next diverse generation of REIT executives, staff, tenants, investors, and the broader real estate community.

Lead Founding Donors -American Tower Corporation and Prologis have been champions of the campaign’s mission since its debut. They have long demonstrated their unwavering commitment to advancing diversity in the REIT and publicly traded real estate industry, and both companies made a generous donation of at least $100,000 to the campaign prior to its launch in 2022.
