Eight REITs have been named to The Wall Street Journal Management Top 250 list of the best-managed companies for 2022, with two REITs named to the top 10 lists for employee engagement and development, as well as for innovation.
The measure of corporate effectiveness is based on a ranking created by the Drucker Institute. It examines corporate performance in five areas: customer satisfaction, employee engagement and development, innovation, social responsibility, and financial strength. The ranking is based on an analysis of 34 data inputs provided by 14 third-party sources.
In the overall ranking, Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX) was in 40th place, Prologis, Inc. (NYSE: PLD) at 51, Iron Mountain (NYSE: IRM) at 84, Weyerhaeuser (NYSE: WY) at 102, Crown Castle Inc. (NYSE: CCI) at 200, Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (Nasdaq: HST) at 208, Healthpeak Properties, Inc. (NYSE: PEAK) at 225, and Regency Centers Corp. (Nasdaq: REG) at 247.
Charles Meyers, Equinix president and CEO, said it was "an honor to be named as one of the best managed companies, but this incredible accolade is not a reflection of me as CEO, or just the executive team, it’s a result driven by all of our employees. Together, we manage this business in service to our customers and our other stakeholders."
He added that Equinix recently reported its 79th quarter of consecutive revenue growth, "further demonstrating the resiliency and durability of our business even in the face of a complex and challenging macro environment."
Meanwhile, Prologis ranked fourth in a separate ranking for employee engagement and development among the Management Top 250, while Equinix ranked 10th for innovation.
