Ashford Hospitality Trust, Inc. (NYSE: AHT) announced that Rob Hays, the current president and CEO of Ashford Trust, will be stepping down effective June 30 after nearly 20 years of service. The company's current senior vice president of corporate finance and strategy, Stephen Zsigray, will succeed him at that time to become Ashford Trust's president and CEO. Hays will spend the next few months working alongside Zsigray on a smooth transition before pursuing plans to work with his father on a business opportunity in an industry outside of real estate.
Brixmor Property Group Inc. (NYSE: BRX) said James Taylor Jr., the company's CEO and president, is taking a temporary medical leave of absence. The board of directors appointed Brian Finnegan, the company's senior executive vice president and COO, to also serve as interim CEO and president until Taylor's return.
Camden Property Trust (NYSE: CPT) announced the promotion of Alex Jessett from executive vice president-CFO to president and CFO. Additionally, Camden promoted Ben Fraker from vice president of finance and treasurer to senior vice president of finance and treasurer.
Crown Castle Inc. (NYSE: CCI) announced that its board of directors has appointed Steven Moskowitz as president and CEO. Most recently, Moskowitz served as CEO of Centennial Towers Holding LP. He also held several executive leadership roles over his 12 years at American Tower Corp. (NYSE: AMT), including seven years as EVP and president of the U.S. tower business.
DiamondRock Hospitality Co. (NYSE: DRH) announced a series of leadership changes. Jeffrey Donnelly, previously executive vice president and CFO, has been appointed CEO. Donnelly is expected to join the board of directors after its 2024 annual meeting in May. He succeeds Mark Brugger, who, after 20 years of service, is departing the company. Briony Quinn, previously senior vice president and treasurer, has been named executive vice president, CFO and treasurer, succeeding Donnelly. Justin Leonard, formerly executive vice president and COO, has been appointed president. Leonard will maintain his role as COO and will assume the responsibilities previously overseen by Troy Furbay, executive vice president and chief investment officer, who is departing the company.
Digital Realty (NYSE: DLR) said Susan Swanezy, a 30-year veteran of institutional real estate and infrastructure private capital raising, has been appointed to the company's board of directors as an independent director.
Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. (NYSE: HHH) said that long-time Howard Hughes board member Scot Sellers will be named chairman of its board of directors at HHH’s upcoming annual meeting. Sellers will succeed Pershing Square Capital Management, L.P. Founder and CEO Bill Ackman, who will be retiring from the board after serving as its chairman since founding Howard Hughes in 2010. Pershing Square Partner Ben Hakim is being nominated for the Howard Hughes board to replace Ackman.
