Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust, Inc. (“BREIT”) announced that current COO Wesley LePatner, will become BREIT’s CEO as of Jan. 1, 2025. She will succeed Frank Cohen, who, after nearly 30 years, plans to retire from Blackstone at year-end. Cohen will remain chairman of BREIT’s board of directors.
Easterly Government Properties, Inc. (NYSE: DEA) said Meghan Baivier, president and COO, resigned from her positions with the company, effective Sept. 13. Baivier resigned to pursue another opportunity, Easterly said.
Gladstone Land Corp. (Nasdaq: LAND) announced that Katharine Cornell Gorka has been elected to the 2027 class of directors. Gorka is the president of Threat Knowledge Group, which provides training and expertise on threats to U.S. national security, and also serves as the chair of the Fairfax County Republican Party.
Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. (NYSE: HHH) announced that long-time Arizona real estate leader Charley Freericks has been appointed president of the Phoenix region. Freericks will lead residential and commercial development, leasing, and operations of Teravalis, the new 37,000-acre Howard Hughes community in the Phoenix West Valley.
Terrafina (BMV: TERRA13), a leading Mexican industrial REIT externally advised by PGIM Real Estate, announced the retirement of its CEO as part of the succession plan previously approved by its technical committee. In accordance with this plan, and exercising his retirement option, Alberto Chretin will step down as CEO. Terrafina has also confirmed that Chretin will remain as chairman of the technical committee.
Prologis, Inc. (NYSE:PLD) announced that Ted Eliopoulos is joining the company as managing director, strategic capital. Most recently, Eliopoulos was managing director and senior advisor of Calvert Research and Management, having previously served as Calvert's CEO and president. Previously, Eliopoulos served as the vice chairman and head of strategic partnerships at Morgan Stanley Investment Management from 2019-2022.
UMH Properties, Inc. (NYSE: UMH) promoted T.C. Sheppard to senior vice president of sales and consumer finance. Sheppard has been with UMH since 2013.
VineBrook Homes Trust, Inc. reported that John Good was appointed CEO. The role was previously held by Brian Mitts, who remains president of the company, as well as a member of the board of directors. Good previously served as chairman and CEO of Jernigan Capital, Inc., a NYSE-listed self-storage REIT. After leading JCAP's IPO in 2015, Good helped grow the REIT to approximately $1 billion in enterprise value before being acquired by affiliates of NexPoint Advisors, L.P. in 2020.
Vinebook also said that Paul Richards was appointed VineBrook's CFO, assistant secretary and treasurer, positions also previously held by Mitts. Richards, who is employed by an affiliate of NexPoint, has been actively involved across VineBrook's business since the REIT formation in 2018.
