REIT share prices declined last week with a -1.2% total return on the FTSE Nareit All Equity REITs Index.Broader markets declined as well, with a -0.8% return on the Russell 1000.
Total returns year-to-date were 6.0% for All Equity REITs, compared to 4.6% on the Russell 1000.
Most property sectors were down for the week, including timber REITs (-5.8%) and self storage (-3.5%). Lodging/resorts had a positive 1.1% return, and infrastructure delivered a 3.3% return.
In the mREIT sector, home financing mREITs were up slightly while commercial financing mREITs were down 1.8%.
