REIT share prices were little changed last week, with the FTSE Nareit All Equity REITs Index total return edging down 0.3%. Broader markets rose by less than 1%, with the S&P 500 and Russell 1000 each up 0.8%.
By property sector, data center REITs declined 4.0%, lodging was down 2.0%, and infrastructure was 1.7% lower. Sectors with increases included timber REITs (up 2.5%), industrial (1.7%), and diversified (1.1%).
Mortgage REITs were mixed, with home financing mREITs posting a total return of 1.0% while commercial financing mREITs were unchanged.
