WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 31, 2022) – Nareit has named David Sullivan as Senior Vice President of Investment Affairs to lead Nareit’s investor outreach to pension plans, endowments, and foundations. Sullivan succeeds Meredith Despins, who retired earlier this year after serving at Nareit for more than 15 years.

Commenting on Sullivan’s appointment, Nareit’s President and CEO Steven A. Wechsler said, “David’s strong leadership skills and deep knowledge of real estate investment make him the ideal person to lead our outreach to investors in the pension and endowment space. He is widely regarded as an expert in the domestic and global commercial real estate industries, and he will be an asset to our team.”

“Nareit has a long history and outstanding reputation of successfully serving REITs and the millions of institutional and retail investors who use them to meet their financial goals,” said David Sullivan. “I look forward to collaborating with the investor outreach team and helping more investors understand the benefits of REITs, particularly in today’s high inflationary environment.”

Most recently, he was Head of Real Estate Partnerships for the Americas at Schroders, where he conducted institutional capital raising and product management for UK and EU real estate funds, co-investments, and clubs. From 2015 to 2017, he was Senior Director for Real Estate Business Development at Barings. During that time, he led institutional business development for private and public real estate debt and equity investment programs. Earlier in his career, Sullivan worked as Director of Institutional Investor Services for CBRE Global Investors, Director of Institutional Marketing for Broadway Partners, and Marketing Director of the Alternative Investment Group at Bank of America.

Sullivan received an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MA in International Relations from University of Cambridge in England, and BA in International Relations from Boston University.
