Four NAREIT Corporate Members have been recognized as part of Fortune magazine’s annual list of “The World’s Most Admired Companies.”
Equity Residential (NYSE: EQR), Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: HST), Simon Property Group, Inc. (NYSE: SPG), and Vornado Realty Trust (NYSE: VNO) took four of the top five slots for 2016 in the real estate segment.
Simon held onto the number one position in the real estate segment from last year, while Host moved up to second place from fifth place in 2015. Equity Residential remained at fourth place again in 2016, while Vornado moved up to fifth place from seventh place the year before.
To create the industry lists, Korn Ferry Hay Group, the magazine’s survey partner, asked executives, directors and analysts to rate companies in their own industry on nine criteria, ranging from investment value to social responsibility.
