REITWise 2016: A meeting of the Government Relations Committee featured insights from Andrea Hoffenson (center), branch chief of the IRS Financial Institutions and Products (FI&P) division, and Julanne Allen (right), assistant to the branch chief of FI&P. Tony Edwards (left), NAREIT executive vice president and general counsel, was also on the panel.
REITWise 2016: NAREIT Senior Vice President for Financial Standards George Yungmann (left) moderated a panel on the future of financial reporting. The panel included Russell Golden (right), chair of the Financial Accounting Standards Board, and Wesley Bricker (center), deputy chief accountant with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
REITWise 2016: Kenneth Kies (right), managing director with The Federal Policy Group and former Chief of Staff for the Joint Committee on Taxation, joined Russell Sullivan (center), partner with McGuire Woods and former staff director of the Senate Finance Committee, to offer their thoughts on the direction comprehensive tax reform on Capitol Hill. Cathy Barre, NAREIT senior vice president for policy and politics, moderated the panel.
REITWise 2016: A panel on SEC legal issues focused on responding to comment letters, the clawback rule and more. Moderator Michael McTiernan (far left), partner with Hogan Lovells LLP, was joined by (left to right): Sonia Barros, assistant director in the SEC Division of Corporation Finance; Judith Fryer, shareholder with Greenberg Traurig LLP; Jeffrey Miller, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary with Highwoods Properties Inc.
