The NAREIT Investor Outreach team’s February itinerary featured a road show to New York, which included meetings with a 12 organizations in the institutional investment market that control $8.3 billion in assets.
The meetings were held with:
- Two investment consultants with assets under advisement of more than $2 billion;
- Nine investment managers sponsoring global and domestic products for the institutional and retail investor markets and representing more than $6.2 billion in assets under management; and
- One organization that provides investable and benchmark indexes to the financial markets.
The focus of the discussions in each of the meetings varied depending on the level of familiarity with REITs and real estate investing.
A number of meetings also featured an outlook on the current domestic macroeconomy and its implications for commercial real estate and REITs, as well as the global real estate market.
