The 2016 GRESB Survey and NAREIT’s Leader in the Light Award program are now open for responses through July 1.
Since 2012, NAREIT has partnered with GRESB, a global benchmark organization based in Amsterdam, on the environmental, social and governance (ESG) assessment of real estate portfolios. Companies that participate in the 2016 GRESB real estate assessment will receive individual scorecards offering insight into their relative sustainability performances against peer groups.
NAREIT’s Leader in the Light Awards are presented at REITWorld each November, and honor companies that have demonstrated superior and sustained sustainability practices. In 2015, awards were presented for the categories of retail, residential, office, industrial, health care, diversified, lodging/resorts and global.
Scoring for the 2016 NAREIT Leader in the Light Awards will based on a combination of the baseline GRESB Score (70 percent weight), together with the score on the supplemental Leader in the Light questions, as evaluated by a panel of judges (30 percent weight).
