During the first three quarters of 2018, the Nareit Investor Outreach (IO) team conducted 480 meetings with many of the largest and most influential investment organizations within the institutional investment marketplace. The team conducted 445 meetings during the same period last year.
Collectively, these entities represent close to $66 trillion in assets under management or advisement. The meetings included:
- 146 with prominent domestic and international pension, retirement, and sovereign wealth fund plan sponsors that represent more than $6 trillion in assets;
- 60 with investment consultants with assets under advisement of close to $26 trillion; and
- 200 with investment managers sponsoring global and domestic products for the institutional and retail investor market, representing more than $34 trillion of assets under management.
The IO team held another 74 meetings with other organizations and associations active in investment management and the retirement industry. Nareit was also active on the institutional investment conference circuit in 2018: Members of the IO team attended 58 events, participating in 50 of those events as a speaker, board member, or sponsor.
