The NAREIT Investor Outreach team’s September itinerary included a trip to Chicago to meet with 13 organizations in the institutional investment marketplace that control a total of almost $2.5 billion in assets.
NAREIT held meetings with four investment consultants with assets under advisement of more than $1.2 billion combined. The Investor Outreach team also met with nine investment managers sponsoring global and domestic products for the institutional and retail investor markets and representing a total of $1.2 billion in assets under management.
Using a combination of internal and sponsored research, the Investor Outreach team provided practical examples of how REITs may be employed within institutional investment portfolios. In response to growing investor interest, several meetings also featured an outlook on the current domestic macroeconomy and its implications for REITs and the domestic and global real estate markets.
