Brad Case, Nareit senior vice president for research and industry information, traveled through the Pacific Northwest earlier this month, discussing REIT investing with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) societies in four cities.
Case presented to the CFA societies in Boise, Idaho; Seattle and Spokane, Washington; and Portland, Oregon. The Boise presentation was simultaneously webcast to society members in Alaska. The four cities were the latest in a broader outreach to an influential nationwide group of investment decision-makers.
Case’s presentation, “Equity Investing in Real Estate Through Public and Private Markets,” is similar to the presentation that he gave in June 2018, which is available for download through the Arkansas society’s website.
The sessions each garnered audiences of 21 to 65 people, ranging from individual investors and advisers to trustees of a public sector defined benefit pension plan. After one presentation, an attendee followed up by saying: “I’m a longtime industry veteran and expected to walk away with one or two nuggets. It was a pleasant surprise to walk away with something closer to a new paradigm.”
Case has another eight presentations to CFA societies scheduled in 10 cities over the coming months.
