NAREIT joined a coalition of real estate industry groups April 16 calling on the Senate to bring S. 754, the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA), up for consideration.
In a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Harry Reid, the organizations called cyberattacks “a clear and present danger to the commercial facilities sector, to other critical infrastructure sectors and the nation’s economy.” They also noted that computer hacking ploys “are advancing in scope and complexity.”
The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence recently approved the bill by a 14-1 vote.
