This week, NAREIT’s Investor Outreach team traveled to Toronto and Montreal to meet with some of the largest Canadian pension funds, asset managers and investment consultants.
In Toronto, NAREIT met with two pension funds with combined assets of nearly $275 billion. The outreach team also met with a large independent investment consultant that has assets under advisement of about $300 billion and visited the Toronto offices of two global investment consulting firms. While in Toronto, NAREIT also called on a real estate operating company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange with total real estate investments of $19 billion, including two Canadian REITs also listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
In Montreal, NAREIT had meetings with three pension funds with a total of roughly $125 billion in assets under management. The outreach team also held meetings with a firm that markets an exchange-traded fund investing in listed U.S. equity REITs and a global investment consulting firm.
