Nareit’s Ayris T. Scales virtually attended Paradigm for Parity’s recent Profit & Loss Leadership Accelerator capstone presentation, held in person in New York City. Scales, SVP of social responsibility and global initiatives, provided remarks on the importance of increasing education, professional development, and access for women to advance their careers in finance and commercial real estate. Scales also virtually presented a check for $100,000 from the Nareit Foundation to support the programs.

Paradigm for Parity was one of nine nonprofits to receive an inaugural grant from the Nareit Foundation’s Dividends Through Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DDEI) Giving Campaign in November 2023. The grant supports the organization’s Profit & Loss Leadership Accelerator program, a signature six-month core skill development program to prepare women for future operational roles that includes spaces dedicated for REIT professionals.

The 2024 program cohort comprised 17 graduates, including Melissa Moran, retail property manager at the Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. (NYSE: HHH). 11% of graduates have already received promotions or expanded their roles and responsibilities.

Founded in 2016 by a group of current and former business leaders, Paradigm for Parity supports companies around the world in achieving their commitment to gender parity, including racial equity in corporate leadership. The company also promotes strategies that transform corporate culture to enable women of all races, cultures, and backgrounds to have equal power and opportunity.

Nareit members are encouraged to apply for the next Profit & Loss cohort by the Oct. 15 deadline. Download the full brochure to learn more about this comprehensive learning experience. Completed applications and questions can be directed to pandlprogram@paradigm4parity.com.
