REITs in the Community: Olson Visits Camden Property Trust

Aug. 25, 2015 - Rep. Pete Olson (R-TX), left, a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, visited the Houston offices of Camden Property Trust (NYSE: CPT). He met with Keith Oden, president of Camden, and was briefed on Camden’s recent activities and upcoming developments in the Houston area and other sections of the country, including Washington, D.C.

The two also discussed the current issues pending before the 114th Congress impacting Camden and the publicly traded real estate industry. Those issues include tax reform, Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA) reform, the Marketplace Fairness Act, and 1031 like-kind exchanges.

Olson hopes to visit one of Camden's latest development projects in Houston later this year.
