PCAOB Seeks Input on its Five-Year Strategic Plan
On Aug. 10, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) issued a draft of its five-year strategic plan for public comment. The PCAOB is inviting constituent feedback on its strategic goals in fulfilling its mission to protect investors and the public interest through high quality audit reports. If you are interested in participating in a Nareit task force that will evaluate the Strategic Plan, and consider whether Nareit should develop a comment letter, please contact Christopher Drula ( cdrula@nareit.com) by Aug. 28. Comment letters are due to the PCAOB by Sept. 10.
The strategic plan sets out the following strategic goals:
▪ | Drive improvement in the quality of audit services through a combination of prevention, detection, deterrence, and remediation. |
▪ | Anticipate and respond to the changing environment, including emerging technologies and related risks and opportunities. |
▪ | Enhance transparency and accessibility through proactive stakeholder engagement. |
▪ | Pursue operational excellence through efficient and effective use of its resources, information, and technology. |
▪ | Develop, empower, and reward its people to achieve its shared goals. |
