Beeson
American Realty Capital Properties, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARCP) named David Kay president. Prior to his appointment, Kay served as chief investment officer and chief financial officer of Capital Automotive Real Estate Services, Inc. Also, Lisa Beeson has joined American Realty Capital Properties as chief operating officer. Most recently, Beeson held the position of managing director and head of global real estate M&A at Barclays. Beeson will take over for Brian Jones, who will continue to serve as part of the executive leadership team in the American Realty Capital group. In addition, Lisa Pavelka McAlister has been appointed chief accounting officer.
American Residential Properties, Inc. (NYSE: ARPI) announced the resignation of Andrew Kent as senior vice president of investments, chief compliance officer, general counsel and secretary.
Annaly Capital Management, Inc. (NYSE: NLY) announced the resignation of Jeremy “Jay” Diamond from his position as managing director and head of research and corporate communications.
Thomas Sargeant, CFO of AvalonBay Communities, Inc. (NYSE: AVB), will retire from the company effective May 31, 2014. He has held the position for the last 19 years. Sargeant will be replaced by Kevin O’Shea, the company’s executive vice president of capital markets.
Wetzel
Aviv REIT, Inc. (NYSE: AVIV) has hired Mark Wetzel as chief financial officer and treasurer. Wetzel will replace James Lyman.
MAA (NYSE: MAA) named Robert DelPriore executive vice president and general counsel. DelPriore was most recently a shareholder with Baker, Donnelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC.
CyrusOne Inc. (NASDAQ: CONE) reported the resignation of COO Michael Duckett. His former responsibilities will be absorbed by other officers of the company.
Home Properties, Inc. (NYSE: HME) appointed two new directors, Michael Barnello and Bonnie Biumi, bringing the company’s total number of board members to eight. Barnello has been president and CEO of LaSalle Hotel Properties (NYSE: LHO) since 2009. Biumi previously served as president and chief financial officer of Kerzner International Resorts, Inc.
Liberty Property Trust (NYSE: LRY) General Counsel James Bowes died late last year after a battle with advanced-stage lung cancer. Bowes was with the company since 1996.
Preferred Apartment Communities, Inc. (NYSE: APTS) promoted John Isakson to chief capital officer. Isakson, who has served in a number of executive management roles since the company’s IPO, will remain on the company’s investment committee and continue to oversee its asset management functions.
Roy
Realty Income Corp. (NYSE: O) named Sumit Roy chief investment officer. Roy served most recently as executive vice president of acquisitions, implementing the company’s expanded acquisitions strategy of increasing the size, quality and diversity of its real estate portfolio.
