Alexander & Baldwin (NYSEMKT: ALEX) named Kenneth Kan as director, corporate finance. He most recently served with Outrigger Enterprises Group as corporate director, business planning and analysis.
Capstead Mortgage Corp. (NYSE: CMO) appointed Lance Phillips as senior vice president, CFO and secretary. Phillips joined Capstead from Hunt Utility Services, LLC, the external manager to InfraREIT, Inc.
Long-time REIT investor, author and advocate Kenneth Campbell retired as managing director at CBRE Clarion Securities at the end of 2017. Campbell spent nearly 50 years associated with the REIT industry and received Nareit’s Industry Achievement Award in 1995.
Constance Moore was elected to the Columbia Property Trust, Inc. (NYSE: CXP) board of directors. Moore served as president and CEO of BRE Properties, Inc., a former public REIT, from 2005 until the completion of its merger with Essex Property Trust, Inc. (NYSE: ESS) in 2014. Moore was also the 2009 Nareit chair.
Equinix, Inc. (NASDAQ: EQIX) named Brian Lillie to the newly created role of chief product officer. Lillie previously served as the company’s chief customer officer and as global chief investment officer. In addition, Equinix said Laura Ortman was promoted to the role of chief customer officer. She joined the company in January 2017 as senior vice president of global customer care and experience.
Jordan Ritter, senior vice president and general counsel at Essex Property Trust, is retiring in January, the company said. Ritter joined the multifamily REIT in 1993.
Invesco Mortgage Capital Inc. (NYSE: IVR) named Kevin Collins as president and David Lyle as COO. They replace Robson Kuster, the company’s previous president and COO. Collins served as the company’s executive vice president for commercial mortgage credit since March 2017. Lyle served as executive vice president for residential mortgage credit since March 2017.
Iron Mountain Inc. (NYSE: IRM) named Daniel Borges as vice president and chief accounting officer. Borges will also serve as the company’s principal accounting officer. He has been with the company since 2002 and most recently held the position of vice president, global controller.
Bruce Goldman, an executive vice president and the general counsel and secretary of PREIT (NYSE: PEI), will retire on Jan. 9, the company said.
UDR, Inc. (NYSE: UDR) president and CEO Thomas Toomey was named the company’s chairman. Toomey was appointed CEO in 2001. Toomey succeeds James Klingbeil, who served as chairman since 2010.
VICI Properties, Inc. (OTC: VICI) said David Kieske, former managing director at Wells Fargo Securities/Eastdil Secured’s real estate and lodging investment banking group, joined the company as special adviser to CEO Ed Pitoniak in November. Kieske will become executive vice president and CFO at the start of 2018.
Butch Knerr resigned as executive vice president and COO of Washington Prime Group (NYSE: WPG). The company noted that it will not be replacing the COO position in an effort to streamline the organization.
Welltower Inc. (NYSE: HCN) named John Goodey as executive vice president and CFO, succeeding Scott Estes. Goodey has been with the company since 2014 and previously served as senior vice president—international.
Weyerhaeuser (NYSE: WY) named Devin Stockfish as senior vice president, timberlands. He replaces Rhonda Hunter, who retired after 30 years with the company. Stockfish previously served as vice president of Weyerhaeuser’s Western timberlands business. He joined the company in 2013.
Xenia Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: XHR) elected CEO Marcel Verbaas to the role of chairman. In addition, the Xenia board appointed Barry Bloom to the position of president and COO. Verbaas has served as president and CEO since the company’s formation in 2007. Bloom joined Xenia in 2013.
