Greg Silvers, president and CEO of EPR Properties (NYSE:EPR), participated in a CEO video interview in conjunction with Nareit’s REITworld: 2021 Annual Conference.
Silvers said the REIT has seen “really robust activity” across its experiential real estate platforms. In the movie theater segment, for example, EPR has seen growth every month since March in comparison to 2019 levels. Meanwhile, “we’ve set some all-time records in other areas,” he added.
“People want to be able to get out safely…we’re very hopeful for the balance of this year and into next year,” Silvers said. He added that “we feel very good that we will be very close to where we were pre-pandemic as we move into 2022.”
Silvers said EPR is actively pursuing transactions in all of its experiential real estate categories, with the exception of cinema, where EPR’s concentration is “a little high.”
