Howard Sider, assistant vice president at Arch Insurance Group, and Tim Crowley, first vice president at Crystal & Company, participated in a video interview at Nareit’s REITwise: 2019 Law, Accounting & Finance Conference in San Antonio.
Sider discussed 2018 securities class action litigation trends, as well as the specific types of claims he’s seeing against REITs today.
“We continue to see a significant amount of REIT M&A litigation,” he said. “These lawsuits are almost exclusively brought in federal court, but we’re seeing them resolved similarly to those that were previously brought in state court.”
Crowley discussed Crystal & Company’s partnership on the Nareit D&O Program, noting that Nareit members interested in learning more should visit REIT.com.
