Pamela Lipp-Hendricks, head of talent and diversity at JP Morgan Chase & Co., participated in a video interview at Nareit’s REITwise: 2019 Law, Accounting & Finance Conference in San Antonio.
Lipp-Hendricks highlighted some of the significant differences between Gen Xers, millennials, and baby boomers in terms of their views regarding work/life balance.
She also commented on the importance for all employees to create a sense of inclusion in the workplace.
“You can come in every day and make your organization feel like a place where other people want to work,” Lipp-Hendricks said. She stressed the importance of creating connections with those outside of one’s immediate work network. While it’s common to make assumptions about people based on their demographics, it’s important to get to know them personally, she said, “because you really might have more in common with them than you have differences.”
