Jeannie Renne-Malone, vice president for sustainability at Prologis (NYSE: PLD), joined Nareit for a video interview at Nareit’s 2018 ESG Forum in Seattle.
Prologis has won the Leader in the Light award for the industrial sector every year since 2012. According to Renne-Malone, engagement with stakeholders has been key to Prologis’ success.
“We have a commitment from our employees across the board to really drive our ESG initiatives,” Renne-Malone said. Prologis is also focused on customer experience and last year launched its Customer Sustainability Advisory Council, which meets twice a year to discuss ESG best practices.
Meanwhile, Prologis has already surpassed its 2020 goal to reduce greenhouse gases. Renne-Malone noted that Prologis has already tackled much of the low-hanging ESG fruit. Now, the conversation is about how the company can drive value for stakeholders through innovation and technology, data, health and wellbeing, and engagement, she added.
Looking ahead, Renne-Malone said Prologis plans to continue to link health and wellbeing initiatives with its social responsibility program.
