REITs Adapting to Governance Changes

David Slotkin, partner with Morrison & Foerster LLP, participated in a video interview at Nareit’s REITwise: 2019 Law, Accounting & Finance Conference in San Antonio.

Slotkin discussed a corporate governance panel he was a part of at REITwise, noting that environmental, social, and governance (ESG) concerns are the biggest emerging issues for REITs and their shareholders.

Slotkin also discussed the importance of board diversity, noting that REITs are making significant improvements in gender diversity but are still behind the “new economy companies,” or millennial-centric companies.
